History on Tap – Baseball!

May 15 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Step into the roaring ’20s in Shawnee! For four evenings this year, Shawnee Town 1929, hosts History on Tap. This event series dive into the relevance of 4 major topics in the 1920s (sex, gangsters, bootlegging, and baseball) and a different local brewery will be on tap each night!

That great American pastime, baseball, had some amazing milestones in the 1920s.  What a decade!  On May 15th, you’ll hear about the Babe and his season of 54 homers, other notables such as Lou Gehrig, Rogers Hornsby, George Sisler, the aging Ty Cobb, and baseball’s first commissioner, Kenesaw Mountain Landis.   Along with other baseball greats, tales of intrigue, bribery, and baseball mania will fill out the evening’s presentation.  This evening’s History on Tap will feature Shawnee’s one and only Transport Brewery.

RSVP and purchase tickets by calling Shawnee Town 1929 at 913.248.2360.
